Firewise Workshop

Support the work of Nature Conservation by becoming a member.

An annual membership is great value – less than half a dozen coffees over the course of a year! You’ll receive our newsletters and updates, plus discounts on tickets to events and workshops.

Membership fees do much more than just help keep the lights on. They are an important measure of our credibility, which is vital when dealing with decision makers and attracting grants or donors. A strong membership base helps demonstrate grassroots support. Members also help guide the organisation’s direction by casting their vote at general meetings.

Memberships can be purchased at any time and last for 12 months (you’ll be notified by email when it’s time to renew).

Volunteer

There are hundreds of passionate volunteers in our community who regularly celebrate nature and give back at planting, coastal brushing, bush regeneration and conservation days. It’s a great way to support our environment, make friends and connections, and have fun. You’ll meet like-minded people, connect socially, and give your health and wellbeing a boost. These on-ground volunteer activations run regularly throughout the year through our programs such as Caring for Coast and Friends of Wooditjup Bilya.

Become a volunteer

To become a volunteer, make sure you register with us, keep an eye on our Events page, follow our Facebook and Instagram social media channels, and subscribe to our newsletter so you never miss an upcoming event.

We’d love to hear from you if you have or want to learn other skills too. Examples include volunteers who use computer software to help with our mapping and data management; video production; photography including drone photography; member support; program coordination; and helping with events. If you have a particular interest, let us know when you register.

Other ways to volunteer

We help run citizen science projects – such as the Ringtail Tally and Great Cocky Count – where volunteers are needed to collect data to help conserve threatened species in our region. We’ll let you know when these are coming up.

You may also like to join your local residents’ group looking after a particular reserve or habitat, coordinated by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River. Other groups you may like to volunteer with include the Friends of the Cape to Cape Track or the Margaret River Coastal Residents Association.
