Together with Nature

Connect – Respect – Act

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the country where we work – the Wadandi or Saltwater People – and recognise their continuing connection to land, water, sea and culture. We pay our respects to elders past and present.

Advocacy

We provide advocacy, leadership and an informed voice on environmental issues, developments and other nature and biodiversity impacts in our local community and region.

Advocacy

Bush Regeneration Team

We have a dedicated and passionate Bush Regeneration Team focused on bushland management through revegetation and controlling invasive weeds to the highest environmental standards. The team is available for contract work to help landholders make a positive contribution on their property.

Advocacy

Biodiversity Assessment

We have highy experienced Biodiversity Officers who can be hired to carry out a biodiversity assessment and plan for private properties, assisting landholders to maintain or build on the environmental values of their land.

Take action

There are many ways to be involved in conserving nature and caring for our environment.

‘Getting involved’ can be through the actions we take in our garden or on our property; by becoming a volunteer or citizen scientist, or joining a local Friends group.

It can simply be through an awareness and enthusiasm for our local area; reporting what you see and having a curiosity to learn more.

On Your Property

Wildlife needs space and places to live. Gardens and properties can support the local wildlife by providing areas to shelter, nest and feed in. As different types of wildlife have different needs, the more diverse a garden or property the more species it will support.

In your environment

Much of our wildlife is dependent on our native flora species. The Margaret River region has a high diversity of flora and fauna and we live in a biodiversity hotspot – which is a great privilege but also comes with great responsibilty.

Become a member

Support the work of Nature Conservation by becoming a member for only $25 a year. Paid-up members do much more than help keep the lights on. They are an important measure of our organisation’s credibility and support, and a strong membership base helps us lobby for our local environment and its protection.

Volunteer

Your time is one of the greatest gifts you can give to the local environment. Volunteering for Nature Conservation provides an opportunity to repay nature for some of the enjoyment you derive from it. There are also other unexpected benefits – volunteers often get just as much from volunteering as the cause they serve.
